Two concealed magnetic clasps secure the flap, so the front buckles do not need to be opened every time you use the bag.

Structured Vegetable-Tanned Leather Body

Bonnie is constructed as a structured three-dimensional leather satchel with a compact, practical everyday size.

The body, front pocket, side panels, flap and handle are individually cut and assembled by hand.

Vegetable-tanned leather allows the bag to maintain a defined silhouette while gradually becoming more flexible and personal through use.

Front Design

Twin Buckle Straps

The two front straps sit close to the outside edges of the front pocket rather than toward the center of the bag.

This placement gives Bonnie its distinctive proportions while retaining the familiar character of a traditional leather satchel.

Circular Flap Detail

A stitched circular leather panel sits at the center of the flap.

Made from the same hand-dyed leather as the rest of the bag, it adds depth to the front while keeping the overall appearance clean and understated.

Top Handle

Bonnie includes a reinforced leather top handle integrated into the upper construction of the bag.

It provides a convenient way to pick up and carry the satchel by hand in addition to shoulder and crossbody carry.

Hand-Dyed Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather

This Bonnie Satchel is made from Italian vegetable-tanned leather.

We dye and finish the leather ourselves in our Bucharest atelier.

The hand-dyeing process creates a rich cognac surface with subtle differences in tone, depth and shading. Rather than trying to create a perfectly uniform factory finish, we allow the natural character of the leather and the hand-applied color to remain visible.

As the bag is handled and used, the leather will gradually soften, deepen in color and develop its own patina.

Shoulder Strap

The shoulder strap is made from heavier leather for additional strength and stability during everyday use.

Stitching & Finish

Every Bonnie is hand stitched using 0.04 in / 1 mm waxed thread.

The leather surfaces, edges and construction details are individually finished by hand.

Hardware

Bonnie uses brass-tone metal hardware:

• 2 × 1.2 in / 30 mm front buckles
• 1 × 1 in / 25 mm shoulder strap buckle

Leathercraft from Bucharest

Atom Leather is the father and son atelier of Vasile and Pavel Vasilache, based in Bucharest, Romania.
