Leather Crossbody Bag for Everyday Carry

Inspired by traditional field bags and utility satchels, the Livingstone Leather Crossbody Bag is made from vegetable tanned leather and designed for everyday use.

It features a main compartment, a wet molded front pocket and two side pockets, a top handle and an adjustable shoulder strap.

The pockets are formed using water, pressure and a mold. This process gives the leather a fixed three dimensional shape and helps the pockets retain its form during use.

The bag can be carried by hand, over the shoulder or crossbody.

Each Livingstone is cut, molded, stitched and finished by Vasile and Pavel Vasilache in the Atom Leather atelier in Bucharest, Romania.

Construction

Structured Leather Body

The Livingstone is made from 6 oz / 2.4 mm vegetable tanned leather.

The thickness of the leather helps the bag retain its shape while allowing it to soften gradually with use.

The main body is combined with a front pocket and two side pockets to separate smaller items from the main compartment.

Wet Molded Pockets

Formed to Keep Its Shape

The pockets are wet molded from vegetable tanned leather.

During this process, the leather is moistened and formed over a 3D printed molds under pressure. After drying, the leather retains the shape created by the mold.

This gives the pockets a permanent volume instead of relying on folds alone.

The wet molded construction also helps the pocket maintain its shape when empty and reduces collapsing during normal use.

Side Pockets

Two leather pockets are positioned on the sides of the bag.

The shoulder strap is made from approximately 8 oz / 3.2 mm leather.

Leathercraft from Bucharest

Atom Leather is the father and son atelier of Vasile and Pavel Vasilache, based in Bucharest, Romania.

We work with leather using hand stitching, molding, pattern development and leather finishing.
