About Us

Atom Leather is built on a foundation of multi-generational excellence. Our studio based in Bucharest and led by the father-son team of Vasile and Pavel Vasilache, is recognized by the Michelangelo Foundation for its contribution to European craft excellence.

We take pride in creating pieces that stand the test of time. In 2022, our dedication to traditional leatherworking was honored with a feature in the prestigious Leather Crafters & Saddlers Journal. This recognition from the professional saddlery community serves as your guarantee that every Atom Leather product is made to the highest standards of the trade

By merging heritage European techniques with proprietary 3D-molding technology, the studio creates sculptural objects that redefine the boundaries of the leather.

Through a meticulous wet-forming process, high-grade Italian leather is sculpted over 3D printed molds, resulting in architectural silhouettes with permanent structural integrity. This method allows for a level of precision and form that traditional leatherworking cannot achieve.

Atom Leather utilizes surplus and "deadstock" hides from the world’s most prestigious Italian tanneries. By repurposing these high-end materials, the studio maintains an uncompromising luxury standard while operating within a sustainable framework.

Vasile brings decades of traditional leathercraft knowledge, ensuring that every piece is built with the structural integrity of old-world techniques.

Pavel merges this heritage with modern architectural design, utilizing 3D-molding technology to push leather into new, sculptural territories.
